Nani and Ikigai

Writer: Nishant KumarNishant Kumar

My 'Nani' gave birth to 9 children and brought up almost 15 people and then went on to take care of her grand children including me . In her 90's , She still cooks for herself and one uncle of mine and take care of nana. She literally never asked for a thing. She eats well and sleeps well with no health issues. She is the happiest and the most beautiful women i have ever seen. She is always glowing and excited about life and satisfied. I have never seen or ever heard that she is angry about something. What' s her Ikigai ?

It is her " Selflessness". She gets satisfaction and happiness and peace we look for , by giving love to her loved ones in her ways. What we people lack , is selflessness . 'The Art of living in present' . It itself is a meditation .

Instead of screaming " Me " for once , lets calmly , patiently and selflessly starts loving. Just for once, keep our desires aside , start living in present , pray for a good tomorrow ,take care of our food and sleep and start being grateful for the family and loved ones you have , who supports you in thick and thins. Respect and be sensitive to this privilege. It seems easy but it is not easy being genuinely selfless . We have to keep things simple and honest to ourself and to everyone .Lets heal ourself and selfessly cherish the present.
